Solution Consultant (Security)

Client Background & Role Summary:

Our client is an international solutions provider of digital services. They are looking for a Solution Consultant (Security).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical pre-sales support in articulating infrastructure design with in-depth product knowledge of Network, Data, Virtualization and Cloud Security.
• Drive solution sales by understanding clients’ current or new infrastructure environment and propose relevant solutions that will work in present and has future roadmap.
• Research and develop suitable working solution options and highlight its value proposition, by engaging respective solution Principal, Distributor and Services partner.
• Be the solution owner by taking lead and working with cross-functioning internal team including Professional Services, Managed and Maintenance Services, Sales, and Marketing to drive the development of solution and services.
• Translating client business needs into technical solution, providing clarity to necessary components needed to achieve the outcome or end-state.
• Prepare and working with Principal and Distributor to produce the solution bill of material and licensing.
• Draft the initial Statement of Work (SoW) and discuss with external or internal team for delivery strategy, estimate man days, work phases, and identify key criteria for a successful outcome.
• Handling technical solution presentation to articulate value proposition to customers at all levels within the organization, both technical and business audience.
• Lead discussion to incorporate support services and managed services ideas into proposal.
• Prepare competitor analysis landscape to the proposed product in the solution proposal and competitor approach.
• Develop the relationships with key client technical decision makers, vendors, distributor, and partners in providing update on the latest security trend, changes in the threat landscape, with new product and services offering from the Company.
• Prepare solution proposal material – written proposal, in-person or virtual meeting presentation slide.
• Participate in tender response which require security deliverable.
• Participate in marketing event as speakers and content contributor.
• Perform solution demonstration and conducting proof of value environment/trial when needed.
• Participate in following activities related to projects after winning a deal: Internal proposal briefing with service delivery team, attending project kick-off and close-off for solution feedback and improvement.

Experience Requirements:

• Must have at least 5 years of strong hands-on experience in IT Security with at least 2 years in technical solutioning and presales.
• Must have experience working in a customer-facing role and comfortable presenting to a small to medium audiences on both technical and business-related topics.
• Must have working experience in a MSS or familiar with the operation of a Security Operation Center (SOC).
• Must have working technical knowledge of security technologies across multiple domains such as Firewall, Network IPS, SIEM, DLP, EDR, Cloud Security etc. with combination of more than one in an assignment.
• Experience in preparing technical architecture blueprint and responding to large scale complex RFx is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge and familiarity with governance, risk management and compliance consulting services (e.g. penetration testing, PCI audit, security assessment) is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge and familiarity with Virtualization and Cloud technology or security is desirable.
• Broad experience and understanding of industry standards, framework and best practices such as ISO27001, PCI DSS, NIST, etc. is highly desirable.
• Broad experience and understanding of security trend, threat landscape and framework such as the cyber kill-chain.

Solution Skillset Requirements:

• Practical technical experience on network security appliance for Firewall, IPS, WAF, Web Gateway purposes:
  • Cisco: FirePower, Meraki MX
  • Palo Alto: NGFW, Prisma, Cortex
  • F5: BIG-IP ASM and SLB
  • Citrix: Netscaler ADC & Access Gateway
  • SIEM: IBM Qradar, Alienvault USM
  • DLP: Mcafee, Forcepoint
  • EDR: Cisco AMP, Crowdstrike, VMware Carbon Black
  • Vulnerability & Code: Veracode, Tenable, Acunetix,
  • Identity Management & SSO: CyberArk, DUO
• Practical technical experience on security related to VMware vSphere, Hyper-V and Azure deployment, VMware NSXV/T for firewall and micro segmentation use cases and API gateway using NGNIX.

Certification:
• Vendor certification: Cisco CCNP-Security, Palo Alto PSE, F5 and comparable.
• Non-vendor or other security certifications from GIAC, CISA, CEH, CISSP.
• Cloud technology security from Azure and AWS is highly desirable.
