Client Background & Role Summary:

Our client is a Khazanah-owned environmental, waste management and renewable energy solutions company. They are currently looking for Head of Sales, Logistic & Environmental Support Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General
    • Create , meet and achieve the target of departmental KPI’s based on the company’s budget planned/projections as well as Waste Management Centre’s business needs
    • Analyze and document business processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies.
    • Overall responsibilities for the financial performance to ensure profitability of the division
    • Ensure compliance to all laws and regulations
    • Adhere to all company policies
    • Any special task assign from time to time by Senior Management
  • Sales
    • Plan, roll-out and manage overall marketing strategy and execution of sales and marketing plans for the existing disposal service
    • Manage the operations and activities of the Regional Offices and HQ as well as appointed agents to meet sales targets and other KPI objectives
    • Conduct activities to build goodwill and good customer relationship. Activities may include regular visit to regions to solve issues and visit customers and government agencies especially DOE to generate business as well as organize seminars, social functions in relation to branch offices
    • Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the Division as well as to manage the marketing department and regional offices’ work functions
    • Creating sales presentations for internal and external sales teams, to track, monitor and bolster sales for company’s assigned service, territory or department. Responsibility to reach revenue targets, produce sales forecasts and set performance goals for subordinates
    • Review client proposals, conduct market and competitor analysis via market information derived, and to execute client service programs and customer loyalty programs
  • Company’s Recycling and Recovery Commercial
    • Plan, roll-out and manage overall marketing strategy and execution of sales targets for recycling & recovery sector
    • Grow and promote the products and services with existing regional sales and marketing network. Monitor and encourage waste recycling and recovery services
    • Develop a chain of agents to source for value wastes that can be processed. Monitor the performances of the agents and ensure they are able to meet the set targets
    • Source for best value for recycled products and finished goods on regular basis to licensed and approved buyers
    • Seek out new processes and technologies that can complement the services and products in order to be competitive and become one of the Malaysia’s leading waste recycling and recovery facility
    • Establish marketing strategy, marketing plan and develop pricing strategy
  • Logistic
    • Oversee logistics management covering the administration of 3rd party transporter and the infrastructure necessary for an efficient and cost effective management
    • Develop new and innovative solutions to the logistic management with the objective of reducing the overall costs to customers while ensuring profitability to the company
    • Monitor the performance of the 3rd party transporter for all services provided by thee Group. Ensuring reliability, safety and adherence all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Environmental Support Services (ESS)
    • Plan, roll-out and manage the overall marketing strategy for the Environmental Support Services range of services
    • Meet the set targets and grow the business under the unit with ESS team together with the support of the regional offices and appointed agents
    • Continuously seek new technologies and methods to remain competitive and relevant in the ESS industry with the ultimate goal of making the ESS unit the leading service providers in the country
    • Set systems and procedures to ensure ESS is competitive and transparent
    • Develop qualified agents and vendors which will uphold Company’s brand name for quality, safety and reliability
  • Market Intelligence
    • Compilation of weekly reports for all services and key indicators
    • Analyze the marketing report and improve our sales strategy
    • Collection of data and key information of industry including and not limited to competitors profile, industry size, technology, trends and new regulations


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent with 5 years experience at a senior management position
  • Diploma/Certificate in Marketing with 10 years hands-on experience in related filed
  • Minimum 5 years senior management experience that include sales, knowledge of industry and ability to create and lead a strong marketing team.
  • A proven track record of successfully meeting and exceeding sales goals and ability provide training/mentoring as well skills for interviewing, employee relations, budgeting and management
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Environmental Quality Act (EQA) and other relevant laws in the relations to Hazardous Waste Collection in Malaysia
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to perform well under stress and meet deadlines, high energy and strong leadership
  • Able to work with many different types of people to lead an effective team as well as able to go the extra mile to achieve success
